I Robot war zwar nur mittelprächtig (einige schrecklich schlechte CGI Szenen, aber sonst ganz ok), aber I am Legend sieht sehr gut aus, freue mich auch.

I Robot fand ich auch nur knapp gut, aber der "I am legend"-Trailer vor "Hitman" hat in der Tat einiges hergemacht...da darf man echt gespannt sein ^^

Nein gesehen nicht, weil sonst hätte ich ja gesagt, die sind schlecht und nicht die sollen schlecht sein. Und man kann auch schon mal erste Meinungen von Testcreenings lesen.

Movie Reviews: 'I Am Legend'
A lot of the reviews of I Am Legend are not about the story or the performances but about the special effects. The film reportedly cost more than $150 million to make, largely due to the intricate, post-apocalyptic effects scenes. Writes Carina Chocano in the Los Angeles Times: "The first third of the movie is a high-octane joy ride through post-apocalyptic Manhattan, and you can't stop asking yourself how they did it. How did they do it? Endless swaths of Fifth Avenue are cleared out and rendered feral, with grass poking through the concrete and herds of deer galloping through the canyons." Roger Ebert begins his review in the Chicago Sun Times this way: "The opening scenes of I Am Legend have special effects so good that they just about compensate for some later special effects that are dicey." Especially dicey, it seems, is the creation of the film's zombies. Claudia Puig in USA Today comments: "The rampaging zombies don't look at all convincing. Instead, they look like escapees from a second-rate video game." Desson Williams in the Washington Post agrees. "They are, quite simply, too superhuman," he writes. "They move too fast and perfectly. They belong in a video game, but not a big movie." Will Smith gets numerous kudos for essentially playing the only character in the movie. (He is after all, the last man on Earth.) "There are not many performers who can make themselves interesting in isolation, without human supporting players," A.O. Scott observes in the New York Times. In one of the most astounding weekends since the summer, two movies opened and far exceeded all expectations, predictions and studio tracking as Will Smith opened his latest sci-fi action flick I Am Legend (Warner Bros.) in December with an estimated gross of $76.5 million in regular and Imax theates, an average of over $21,000 per theater, setting a new opening record for Smith as well as the new record for December. Even more surprising might be the success of Alvin and the Chipmunks (Fox) in finding a huge family audience to the tune of $45 million, becoming one of the top 7 openers for the month of December as well.

Der Film geht mächtig nach vorne. Mittlerweile wurde in den USA die 200 Mio $ Grenze geknackt, dazu kommen noch 61 Mio $ aus dem Ausland. Die Kinostarts u.a. bei uns in Italien oder Australien stehen noch aus, gute Aussichten also!

Author Richard Matheson has signed off on sequel rights for the smash hit I Am Legend. Matheson wrote the original 1954 novel upon which Francis Lawrence's film is based.
This does not necessarily mean a sequel is a "go." It simply gives Warner Bros. peace of mind should they find the right direction to take the story in and opt to move forward on a second chapter. If that does happen, it would be the first time the "Legend" material was sequelized.
