Andererseits scheint Splendid um einiges größer als E-M-S zu sein. Haben die nicht Bolls Schinken wie Bloodrayne in D in die Kinos gebracht?

Wenn die keine Nachdrehs mit Doubles machen und einen normalen Schnitt hinbringen, dann könnte der Film wenigstens etwas besser als Kill Switch werden...die Story klingt ja auch eher Seagal-passender.

Dear Martin,
I take it as a compliment that you say Kill Switch is
watchable. Few movies are ever perfect, but I hope to move
Steven back toward the type of movie and characters that
his fans know, love and expect. I can only say that with
Ruslan, Mr Seagal was able to take more control over the
action and the story. It is a really good movie for his
fans and I might add in my opinion much better than Kill
Switch. In Ruslan, Steven made every extra effort in the
fight sequences and did all his own fighting. He is in
great shape and his attitude was excellent – he may be
working out more lately but I don't know for certain. In
putting Ruslan together the fight sequencing was a
fundamental aspect of writing the script, with Steve
involved at each stage. With regard to editing, I believe
in giving Steven active participation in all parts of his
movie. He is involved directly in the editing and we have
even taken the unprecedented step of providing Steven with
two weeks alone with the editor (no producers or directors
interfering) to propose his own cut of the film. I'm
certain there will not be any stylized editing as chosen
for Kill Switch.
If there is a need for a little voice dubbing, these lines
are nuances that come up in editing. Our first choice is to
get Steven to voice the lines. However, it may occur at
times as a result of Steven's schedule and a tight
delivery, sometimes too the added lines are a result of the
differing lengths of versions of the film such as the US
TV length being shorter than the international length.
We are all proud of Ruslan and I hope you will be pleased
with the end result of our work.

I'm a thug member, not actually the russian mafia but part of an american gang sent to 'take out' Seagal's character Drachev and although i survive the first scrape with him, i survive and return later in the film with the mafia for another attack
(Is there a lot of fighting in this movie, do you know any martial arts)
I know Shotokan karate and also worked with members of the russian police that Seagal knew who taught me some cool stuff, there is loads of fighting in this film, its about ten minutes chat and the rest is blood, violence, car chases, Jeff the director and Seagal would check the dailies regularly and so would i and its turned out really gritty and real, there is a lot of choking, neck holds, grappling-i think we got through a record number of blood capsules, the ones you bite
(Was there a lot of stunt doubling, esp Seagal)
He had one guy there with him all the time but that was for stuff like taking a hard fall or an awkward fall, also for when Seagal was near like loads of glass and stuff being smashed or blown up-as for the fighting it was mostly Steven, we all had a meeting at the start where Jeff made it clear he wanted the fights to be as real as possible, i understood he fired a few people from him last crew because they helped interfere with the last picture after talking too much to the studio, Steven also mentioned this to me

I'm involved in two, the first is a night time attack on his home, its all in the kitchen, steven is literally making his dinner and we all sneak in, he uses steak knives and even sticks one guys head in the oven, its brutal stuff. the second is near to the end, its in an underground brothel, i ultimately end up getting impaled on a spear thats been chucked through the wall
(any idea of a release date)
I've askd for a cut so my agent can show it round to other producers and stuff, and he has been told he can see one around Christmas time, hopefully the film itself will come out around March maybe before
(whats steven like)
very tall, very big hands and loads of knowledge about everything, he took a lot of punishment for this film, i think he hurt his wrist for a day and the stuntman did his shooting just for some shots, he also managed to gash his elbows, he got tattoos done for the film as well and apparently they stung. he is a nice human being
Das ist erstens ewig her, zweitens ein recht durchwachsenens Werk und drittens eine Big Budget-Produktion, bei der ich mir vorstelle, dass Seagal wahrscheinlich seine ungefähren Vorstellungen geäußert hat, die dann von fähigem Personal umgesetzt wurden. Dass er sich dabei selber fundiertes filmhandwerkliches Können angeeignet hat, wage ich zu bezweifeln.John Woo hat geschrieben:Naja gut er hat immerhin mal bei einem seiner Filme Regie geführt...
