New Regency is in negotiations to pick up sci-fi project I'm Mortal, written and to be directed by Andrew Niccol. Strike Entertainment will produce.

According to Heat Vision, "the story is set in the not-too-distant future where the aging gene has been switched off. To avoid overpopulation, time has become the currency and the way people pay for luxuries and necessities. The rich can live forever, while the rest try to negotiate for their immortality."

The movie centers on a poor young man who reportedly "comes into a fortune of time, though too late to help his mother from dying. He ends up on the run from a corrupt police force known as 'time keepers.'"

Niccol's credits include Gattaca, The Truman Show, S1mOne and Lord of War.

Gute Wahl! Freu mich schon drauf, ihn bald im neuen Fincher Streifen zu sehen, der übrigens den imo besten Trailer des Jahres vorweisen kann (einfach genial zusammengestellt) - also "the Social Network" jetzt.

Der Titel ließ auf arestotellisches Gedankengut schließen, doch wenn Herr Timberlake mitspielt, kann man das wohl wieder gleich vergessen 8-)
