Quelle: variety.comColumbia Pictures is negotiating with the "Cloudy With a Chance of Meatballs" helming team of Phil Lord and Chris Miller to direct "21 Jump Street," the pic based on the TV series that launched Johnny Depp.
The film, about a group of baby-faced cops who go undercover at high schools, has been guided by Jonah Hill and Mike Bacall, who hatched the story together. Bacall wrote the script and Hill will star in the film and exec produce.
Neal Moritz is producing with Stephen J. Cannell.
The series, which ran from 1987-1990, was an early hit for the Fox Network.
"21 Jump Street" is the first live-action feature directing assignment for the duo, who've worked together as co-exec producers on the CBS series "How I Met Your Mother" and "Clone High." They co-wrote "Cloudy With a Chance of Meatballs," which was Lord's feature directing debut.
