Ryan Reynolds and Channing Tatum are set to join forces for Calamity Hustle, a new action comedy which will be written and directed by the Nee Brothers.

A heated bidding war for Calamity Hustle is currently underway, with Warner Bros., Netflix, and Amazon all in the running to snag the project. According to THR’s sources, the film follows a “down-on-his-luck former Los Angeles detective-turned-private investigator who, after being shaken down by a vicious crime lord, must track down his estranged brother who is responsible for interfering with a diamond heist.” In addition to starring in the film, Ryan Reynolds and Channing Tatum will also produce through their respective production banners, Maximum Effort and Free Association.

Warner Bros. is reportedly offering somewhere around $20 million for each actor, while Netflix and Amazon are both offering $50 million to be split however the producers want. One offer for the package reportedly came in at $175 million, which includes above-the-line costs.
