Vielleicht nicht von ganz so allgemeinen Interesse, mich hat's aber schon traurig gestimmt: Der HK-chinesische Schauspieler und Regisseur Wu Ma ist im Alter von 71 Jahren an Krebs gestorben. Und wieder ist das HK-Kino um eines seiner Charaktergesichter ärmer, auch wenn Wu Ma in den letzten Jahren vorwiegend in festlandchinesischen Produktionen mitgewirkt hat. Hab leider erst letztens eine CHINESE GHOST STORY-Retro gemacht, sonst wäre die jetzt passend. Als "Kungfu-Mann vom Lan Lo-Tempel" mochte ich ihn doch sehr gerne. In den 80ern und frühen 90ern war sein Gesicht aus HK-Filmen kaum wegzudenken, aber auch als Regisseur hat er einiges sehr Sehenswertes hinterlassen. Am Bekanntesten dürfte JUST HEROES (bei uns als HARD BOILED 2 veröffentlicht) sein, den er zusammen mit John Woo inszeniert hat.

Wu Ma ist mir erst ziemlich spät so richtig aufgefallen und dann sozusagen rückwirkend auch in diversen älteren HK Schinken. Bis dahin war er mehr so eine Art Lance Henriksen des HK-Kinos. Spielt überall mal mit, den Namen merkt man sich aber net wirklich ... RIP!

Und Hoffman soll wohl offen zu seinen Drogenproblemen gestanden haben und weit über einen Szenedrogi hinausgegangen sein.

Former child star Shirley Temple (known as Shirley Temple Black in her private life) passed away at age 85 on Monday at her home in Woodside, California, from natural causes, her publicist said in a statement.

"She was surrounded by her family and caregivers. We salute her for a life of remarkable achievements as an actor, as a diplomat, and most importantly as our beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and adored wife for 55 years of the late and much missed Charles Alden Black," the statement said.

Temple starred in 14 short films, 43 feature films and over 25 storybook movies in a career that spanned from 1931 until 1961.

John Henson, the son of Muppets creator Jim Henson, died on Friday. He was 48. According to a statement on the Jim Henson Company’s Facebook page, Henson died of a sudden heart attack. Henson was a puppeteer and performer for the Muppets, playing ogre Sweetums from the late 1980′s until 2005, including in the Muppets movies. He was also a company shareholder and board member. Henson is survived by his two daughters, Katrina, 15, and Sydney, 10, and his wife Gyongyi.

American actor, director and writer Harold Ramis has passed away, reports the Chicago Tribune. According to the newspaper, Ramis died at 12:53 a.m. from complications of autoimmune inflammatory vasculitis, a rare disease that involves swelling of the blood vessels. He was 69. His wife Erica Mann Ramis said he was surrounded by family when he died.

The Tribune added that Ramis's serious health struggles began in May 2010 with an infection that led to complications related to the autoimmune disease. Ramis had to relearn to walk but suffered a relapse of the vaculitis in late 2011.

Ramis's best-known acting roles were as Egon Spengler in the Ghostbusters films and Russell Ziskey in Stripes, both of which he co-wrote. As a writer/director, his films included comedies Caddyshack, Groundhog Day, and Analyze This.

Ramis's credits also include National Lampoon's Animal House, Meatballs, National Lampoon's Vacation, Stuart Saves His Family, Multiplicity, Bedazzled, Analyze That, The Ice Harvest, "The Office" and Year One.

James Rebhorn, the busy character actor who played the father of Claire Danes' troubled CIA officer Carrie Mathison on the Showtime drama Homeland, has died. He passed away at his home on Friday, his agent Dianne Busch confirmed to The Hollywood Reporter. He was 65.

Mickey Rooney, Legendary Actor, Dies at 93

Mickey Rooney, the pint-sized actor who was one of MGM’s giant box office attractions in the late ’30s and early ’40s, has died, sources confirm. He was 93.

As adept at comedy as drama and an excellent singer and dancer, Rooney was regarded as the consummate entertainer. During a prolific career on stage and screen that spanned eight decades (“I’ve been working all my life, but it seems longer,” he once said), he was nominated for four Academy Awards and received two special Oscars, the Juvenile Award in 1939 (shared with Deanna Durbin) and one in 1983 for his body of work.

Der Mickey war schon sehr talentiert, wenn auch nicht unbedingt als Schauspieler, eher als Alleinunterhalter. Er kam ja auch aus dem Vaudeville-Bereich. Hab seine Kollaborationen mit Judy Garland alle gesehen, da immerhin passte er ganz gut rein. Schauspielerisch seine beste Rolle war sicher NATIONAL VELVET mit Elizabeth Taylor. Ist auch ein echter Familienfilmklassiker.
R.I.P., werde mir ihm zu Ehren mal wieder MAXIMUM FORCE von Joseph Merhi reinziehen.

Ultimate Warrior Dies -- Dead at 54 ... Collapsed at AZ Hotel

Officials tell TMZ ... Warrior collapsed outside an Arizona hotel at 5:50 PM on April 8th ... while walking to his car with his wife.

Warrior was transported to a nearby hospital ... where he was pronounced dead.

The Ultimate Warrior has died ... this according to the WWE.

Warrior -- real name James Hellwig -- was a true WWE legend ... and was one of the most iconic wrestlers of all time. He was 54-years-old.

Warrior was just inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame the night before Wrestlemania XXX this weekend ... and last night, he made his first appearance on "Monday Night Raw" in years.
