R.I.P.
The following post was on his Facebook page by Bobby Shahlavi:
It is with immense sadness we have to inform you all of the news of the death of our dearest Darren Shahlavi. Darren dared to dream and was brave enough to follow his dreams and make them a reality. He wanted to be a movie star! Sounds crazy right? But he made it happen. He fulfilled so many of his career ambitions and acted along side and met many of his childhood heroes and screen legends including Donnie Yen, Jean-Claude Van Damme, Sammo Hung, Robin Williams & George Clooney to name just a few. He was a kind, honest and decent human being. You will be missed my dear Darren, by family, friends, colleagues and many fans. You are a legend and a legend never dies. Your films and your legacy will live on forever and you will always remain in our hearts. We are all so proud of you and you will continue to inspire us all for generations. Sleep well Darren and keep on dreaming. Love you always… Your family X
Darren Shahlavi, who appeared in popular TV shows including "Mortal Kombat: Legacy" and "Arrow," died of an apparent overdose ... TMZ has learned.
Shahlavi was found dead January 14 at his L.A. home and law enforcement sources tell us ... it appears he overdosed on prescription meds.
We're told the 42-year-old actor sadly had a history of drug and alcohol abuse.
He pursued a stunt career in Hong Kong in the '90s and eventually came to the U.S. to pursue acting.
In addition to the various shows, Shahlavi starred in the 2012 TV movie "Aladdin and the Death Lamp." He also had a classic fight scene in the cult movie "Ip Man 2."
We're told the L.A. County Coroner is conducting toxicology tests before determining the exact cause of death.

Andere Quellen sprechen von einer toxischen Reaktion auf das Medikament.
Auszug aus einem weiteren Facebook-Post Jesses:
"Darren Shahlavi was one of the very best.
In a fiercely competitive profession he had a deserved reputation for being the consummate gentleman, as well as a highly professional, optimistic and sensationally talented individual.
He was competing at the level of an Olympic athlete, doing his own fight scenes, and constantly developing and honing his craft.
He had his best years ahead of him, with his recent success and booked-upcoming jobs making this year perhaps the most exciting and full of potential of his life - he had everything to live for.
Determined to keep the martial arts genre (that he so loved) alive. He knew too well that his technique and style had to be fresh and constantly evolving.
At 42 years old he was competing with 20 year old gymnasts and beating them at their own tricks.
He worked out everyday, training with the discipline and motivation of a professional prize-fighter.
This continued physical punishment took it's toll, and Darren was suffering from a hip injury that had never fully healed.
He was prescribed a painkiller for his hip that he wasn't used to and had a toxic reaction to it.
His passing leaves a great vacuum in the industry as his full potential had only been hinted at."
