Eliza Dushku Says 'True Lies' Stunt Coordinator Sexually Assaulted Her When She Was 12

Eliza Dushku has accused Blade Runner 2049 and The Conjuring 2 stunt coordinator Joel Kramer of assaulting her on the set of the 1994 film classic True Lies, when Dushku was 12 years old.

In a Facebook post on Saturday the Dollhouse actress wrote that she was "sexually molested" by the then-36-year-old stunt coordinator after Kramer "lured" her to his hotel room when filming the Arnold Schwarzenegger and Jamie Lee Curtis starring action movie. Dushku says he promised her parents that he would take her swimming at the stunt crew's hotel pool and take her out for sushi.

"I remember vividly how he methodically drew the shades and turned down the lights; how he cranked up the air-conditioning to what felt like freezing levels, where exactly he placed me on one of the two hotel room beds, what movie he put on the television (Coneheads); how he disappeared in the bathroom and emerged, naked, bearing nothing but a small hand towel held flimsy at his mid-section," Dushku wrote.

Dushku says he laid down next to her on a hotel bed and rubbed her repeatedly, then suggested that she not tell anyone of the encounter. Dushku adds that on the way back to her parents, he pulled her onto his lap during a taxi ride, but grew "cold" to her in subsequent encounters.

Dushku claims that she told a "tough adult friend" on set about the encounter, who approached Kramer with the allegation. That same day, "by no small coincidence," Dushku writes, she broke ribs in what she says what a stunt that went wrong.

"To be clear, over the course of those months rehearsing and filming True Lies, it was Joel Kramer who was responsible for my safety on a film that at the time broke new ground for action films," she wrote. "On a daily basis he rigged wires and harnesses on my 12 year old body. My life was literally in his hands: he hung me in the open air, from a tower crane, atop an office tower, 25+ stories high. Whereas he was supposed to be my protector, he was my abuser."

The actress adds that she was prompted to come out with her story now when she saw a photo of Kramer hugging a young girl on the Internet, an image that she writes "haunted" her. Dushku also credits other Hollywood women who have come out with stories of abuse and assault in recent weeks for strengthening her resolve.

"Sharing these words, finally calling my abuser out publicly by name, brings the start of a new calm," she wrote.

Für die 10-tägigen "All the Money in the World" Reshoots hat Mark Wahlberg rund $1,5 bis $2 Millionen erhalten - Michelle Williams indes gerade einmal 80 Dollar pro Tag. Sie hatte zwar kein Problem mit der Bezahlung, da sie den Film gern "retten" wollte ("I said I’d be wherever they needed me, whenever they needed me,” Williams told USA Today. “And they could have my salary, they could have my holiday, whatever they wanted. Because I appreciated so much that they were making this massive effort.”) - wusste aber nicht von Mark´s Gehalt. Der wusste wiederum aber von Michelles - und war entsprechend "im Blickpunkt der Medien", als der Sachverhalt öffentlich wurde. Nun - einige Tage später - hat er schließlich bekannt gegeben, dass er die $1.5 Millionen an die #TimesUp Anti-sexuelle-Belästigungs-Kampagne spendet...

Uma bricht ihr Schweigen hinsichtlich Weinstein und QT - im Zusammenhang mit der Veröffentlichung des "Kill Bill" Unfallvideos...

In the Times, Thurman describes that the accident occurred in the last four days of shoots on Kill Bill, some time after she had told Tarantino that Weinstein, also a producer of their 1994 film Pulp Fiction, had assaulted her in London. Thurman says she did not feel comfortable operating the car and asked for a stunt person to do the scene, but Tarantino insisted she drive the car.

"He was furious because I’d cost them a lot of time. But I was scared. He said: ‘I promise you the car is fine. It’s a straight piece of road,'" Thurman told the Times. "‘Hit 40 miles per hour or your hair won’t blow the right way and I’ll make you do it again.’ But that was a death box that I was in. The seat wasn’t screwed down properly. It was a sand road and it was not a straight road."

Thurman also described the injury: “The steering wheel was at my belly and my legs were jammed under me,” she said. “I felt this searing pain and thought, ‘Oh my God, I’m never going to walk again,’” she says. “When I came back from the hospital in a neck brace with my knees damaged and a large massive egg on my head and a concussion, I wanted to see the car and I was very upset. Quentin and I had an enormous fight, and I accused him of trying to kill me. And he was very angry at that, I guess understandably, because he didn’t feel he had tried to kill me.”

According to Thurman, her lawyer sent a letter to Miramax, the company Weinstein co-founded that produced and distributed Kill Bill, two weeks after the accident, explaining what happened from Thurman's point of view and reserving the right to sue. Miramax offered to show Thurman the footage if she signed a document “releasing them of any consequences of my future pain and suffering,” Thurman said, which she refused. Thurman has alleged that Weinstein sexually assaulted her some time after the release of the 1994 film Pulp Fiction.

Thurman also said that she and Tarantino fought for years over the footage, which he and others had decided not to give her. He relinquished it to her after she pressured him following multiple allegations of sexual misconduct against Weinstein.

In a Times interview about Weinstein in October, Tarantino expressed regrets about how he handled working with the producer. “I knew enough to do more than I did,” he said. “There was more to it than just the normal rumors, the normal gossip. It wasn’t secondhand. I knew he did a couple of these things.”

Da kann man ja regelrecht dankbar für das knappe Budget bei Accident Man sein, weil es Johnson zwang, die Regie der Kampfszenen nahezu komplett an Tim Man abzugeben, was man den Fights auch sehr positiv anmerkt. Knallerfilm!

Nachdem Mel Gibson bei den letzten "Razzie Awards" den "Redeemer"-Preis für "Hacksaw Ridge" erhalten hat, ist er dieses Jahr prompt wieder "rückfällig" geworden: Für seine Rolle in "Daddy´s Home 2" gab´s den "worst supporting actor award". Man sollte ihn einfach nicht mehr VOR die Kamera lassen. ;)

Wobei das freilich langweiligstes, jedweder Grundlage entbehrendes Hating ist, denn wer Daddy's Home 2 gesehen hat, wird so etwas: "Man sollte ihn einfach nicht mehr VOR die Kamera lassen." hundertpro nicht schreiben. Er ist köstlich in dem Film.

Auch bei den restlichen Preisen muss man feststellen, dass die Razzies selbst nur noch eine Witznummer sind...

Ach, da hatte ich zum Kinostart durchaus mehrere Stimmen gelesen, die in jene Richtung gingen. Nur mal so als Beispiel der Hollywood Reporter:

Coole Vids! Ich finde ja immer cool, wenn in Filmen Bilder herumstehen und man bei genauem Hinschauen schon erkennt, dass das tatsächlich Jugendbilder des Darstellers sind.

The faux Twins poster is also timely because Schwarzenegger has been pitching a sequel to the Ivan Reitman-directed movie that he'd call Triplets. The film would star him and DeVito along with Eddie Murphy, Schwarzenegger said last year.

There's probably no need to explain the reference to #MeToo on the poster, but the "their victims" line refers not only to the women Weinstein is accused of harassing, but also allegations from more than a decade ago that Schwarzenegger also mistreated women he worked with in Hollywood, though on a much smaller scale. Schwarzenegger finalized his divorce with Maria Shriver just last year.

Sabo told The Hollywood Reporter he is picking on Schwarzenegger for his hypocrisy and "virtue signaling" as an environmentalist, given he was "tooling around the streets of Hollywood in a huge Hummer back in the days when the skies were literally brown."

Weinstein's anti-NRA button refers to the disgraced studio head's promise to dedicate his time and money to destroying the National Rifle Association as a sort of penance for allegedly assaulting women. (...)
