A "Sherlock Holmes" sequel is afoot.
Three months ahead of the release of its Robert Downey Jr. action pic, Warners is developing a new installment.
The studio is poised to bring on Kieran and Michele Mulroney, the scribes who are penning its "Justice League: Mortal" tentpole, to pen a draft of the new tale. Brad Pitt has had discussions with producers to star as Holmes' nemesis Moriarty in the new pic, say people familiar with the project, though there is no deal in place for him to take the part.
Susan Downey, Dan Lin and Joel Silver produced "Holmes," a holiday release that, from well-received footage at Comic-Con, appeared to be an action-heavy rendition of the world Sir Arthur Conan Doyle created.
Guy Ritchie helms the pic, and Downey stars as the title character; Jude Law plays protege Watson, and Rachel McAdams stars as love interest Irene Adler. Much of the talent is expected to return in the new pic, as could Ritchie as director.

Da ich vom ersten enttäuscht war, werde ich den zweiten vermutlich meiden.

Ich fand den ersten auch nicht übermässig gut, aber vor allem dank der tolen Chemie zwischen Downey Jr. und Law sehr unterhaltsam. Werde mir den 2. auf jeden Fall im Kino geben.

Jip, Teil 1 war enttäuschend - aber dennoch insgesamt solide Kost.
Teil 2 - naja, daheim irgendwann mal.

Solider, unterm Strich aber doch etwas enttäuschender Start in den USA. Lag wohn an der Konkurrenz und den eher mäßigen Reviews...

As expected, "Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows" is the No. 1 movie in America -- but with only $40.2 million. Warner Bros. did not believe the movie would open as well as its 2009 predecessor, "Sherlock Holmes," but many more optimistic observers figured the film would take in at least $10 million more than it did. Ich muss aber auch sagen, dass die Trailer mich bisher alle net flashen ... keine Ahnung. Im Grunde fliegt ja in allen Trailern bisher nur irgendwas ultrastylisch in die Luft und die Sprüche zwischen Holmes und Watson wirken nur bemüht ...

Finde den ersten ja schon nur recht mäßig - und die Fortsetzung soll zudem zu "auf Sequel" konstruiert sein (mehr Zeitlupe, mehr Verkleidungen, noch mehr Sprüche etc.). Werde ich im Kino auslassen...

Teil 1 ist imo abgesehen von den Settings etc. einfach eine Gurke! Das Sequel wartet bis zur BD.
