CJ E&M Pictures and Grapevine Entertainment have just announced that Rob Cohen (The Fast and the Furious, XXX) will direct a Koren War epic entitled 1950.

Budgeted at $100 million, 1950 will be the largest project ever undertaken by the Korean film industry and will begin shooting next May, eyeing a release in the spring of 2013. The film will be based on the true events covered by New York Herald Tribune correspondent, Marguerite Higgins. Her efforts secured her (along with five male correspondents) the Pulitzer Prize, making her the first woman to receive the coveted writing award.
