Warner Bros. are developing a reboot of THE MATRIX. Warner Bros.' reboot is still in the very early stages, but Zak Penn (READY PLAYER ONE) is currently in talks to write a treatment for the reboot and sources say that there's interest in Michael B. Jordan (CREED) to star. However, the Wachowski siblings, who wrote and directed all three MATRIX movies, are not involved in the project, at least, not yet.

Wird wohl nun doch ein Sequel:

A fourth live-action film in The Matrix franchise is happening! Keanu Reeves and Carrie-Anne Moss will return as Neo and Trinity with Lana Wachowski set to write and direct the film.
“We could not be more excited to be re-entering the Matrix with Lana,” Warner Bros. Picture Group chairman Toby Emmerich said. “Lana is a true visionary — a singular and original creative filmmaker — and we are thrilled that she is writing, directing and producing this new chapter in ‘The Matrix’ universe.”

Production on the film is scheduled to begin in early 2020, Wachowski co-wrote the script with Aleksander Hemon and David Mitchell.
