John Cena is in talks to take on his next major role in Taken director Pierre Morel’s action-comedy, Freelance.
The film follows a special forces operator (Cena) who decides to retire from the Army and start a family back in the states. After several years of mortgage payments, school drop-offs, backyard barbecues and trying to conform to life in suburbia, he decides to come out of retirement to take a gig providing security for a female journalist as she interviews a cruel dictator who may or may not have ordered the attack on him and his men. When a military coup breaks out in the middle of the interview, the three are forced to escape into the jungle where they must survive the elements, the military, and one another.

Actionfilme von Pierre Morel gehen eigentlich immer. Da kann man sich auf gut gemachte, und harte Action freuen. Einen Verleih hat der Film hierzulande auch schon. Splendid.

Bin dabei bei kami. "From Paris with Love" war ein fetter Holzer, danach ging es bergab. "Peppermint" fand ich mau, da lasse ich aber noch mit mir streiten, aber "The Gunman" ist ja nun mal echt so kreuzerbämlich, dass man sich den kaum schönsaufen kann. Die von Stefan erwähnten TV-Folgen und die nie ausgestrahlten TV-Piloten (wie "Clan of the Bear Cave") lasse ich mal außen vor. Aber der "Banlieue 13"/"Taken"/"From Paris with Love"-Hattrick lässt mich bei Morel immer noch hoffen.

Für Freunde von Quatsch wie "Hidden Strike"... nur eventuell etwas besser (dank Brie, Slater, schönem Grün, keinem China-Einfluss und etwas weniger CGI-Crap)
