Da fehlte bei Teil 2 effektiv der Kult-Faktor, aber... ganz ehrlich.. auf den dritten freu ich mich doch sehr. Troy Duffy ist ja nicht einer, der eine lieblose Kacke nach der anderen produziert. Ich erwart da effektiv einen handwerklich ordentlichen Kracher, der dem ganzen Team drum herum echt am Herzen liegt.

Wenn man sich die Doku "Overnight" anschaut, dann ist Troy Duffy vor allem ein ziemlich egomanisches Arschloch, der wohl nicht ganz unschuldig daran ist, dass man außerhalb seines geistigen "Boondock Saints"-Eigentums nicht mit ihm zusammenarbeiten möchte. Das dürfte den geringen Output auch oder vielleicht noch eher erklären. Teil 2 fand ich okay, bin also auch bei der 3 wieder dabeil

In the wake of 1999 cult favorite The Boondock Saints and 2009 sequel The Boondock Saints II: All Saints Day, a third movie is on the way soon, Deadline reports today.

Norman Reedus and Sean Patrick Flanery are both set to return in a brand new Boondock Saints movie from Thunder Road and Dragonfly Films, the report indicates.

The new movie is said to be “a reimagining of the action film franchise.” The report this morning continues, “The story will involve the indoctrination of new Saints.”

Troy Duffy, who directed both the 1999 original movie and its 2009 sequel, will not be returning to direct the third installment. However, Deadline notes in their report that “Duffy plans to write a series of books about the Saints, continuing their story that way.”

OK. Warum? Ist ja nicht so, dass der Duffy sonst was tut und genug Zeit für beides hätte. Oder ist er mit seiner Band auf Welttournee?

Ich kann mir vorstellen, dass hier ein Personalwechsel durchaus was bringen könnte. Duffy hat ja der Meinung mancher Mopperer nach schon mit Teil 2 bewiesen, dass er sein Pulver verschossen hat.
