Producers Basil Iwanyk and Erica Lee have confirmed that a third film in the “Sicario” franchise is in development.

out promoting the “John Wick” spin-off TV series “The Continental,” Iwanyk and Lee spoke with The Messenger and confirmed “Sicario 3” was coming with Iwanyk saying “oh yeah” and Lee then adding: “when we can continue writing it [due to the strike]. It was pencils down, but the idea is awesome.”

Iwanyk adds he’s keen to see Benicio playing his character again: “I can’t wait for Sicario 3. I could watch Benicio play that guy forever. I mean, I can watch Benicio in anything, but with that character, it doesn’t get old.”
