X-Men: Deadpool (2016)

Beitrag von SFI » 06.05.2009, 08:55

Twentieth Century Fox has begun development on "Deadpool," an "X-Men" spinoff that will be crafted as a star vehicle for Ryan Reynolds, who played the character in "X-Men Origins: Wolverine."
The character is one of the most popular in Marvel Comics' X-Men universe. Deadpool is Wade Wilson, a mercenary who, dying of cancer, submits himself to the Weapon X genetic alteration experiment and emerges as an indestructible semi-sane anti-hero. Reynolds seemed destined to play the character. In one reference in the Marvel Comics, Deadpool is described as a mix between "a Shar Pei and Ryan Reynolds."

In one of the "Easter egg" endings of "Wolverine," Deadpool is seen rising from the rubble and whispering "Shhh" to audiences.

The film will be produced by Lauren Shuler Donner and Marvel.

Currently, Reynolds and the studio are seeking a director and writer(s) for the film, and listening to plenty of ideas about where Wade’s story should go. Fortunately for the die-hard fans, Reynolds has no intention of letting the film stray too far from its comic origins.
"I get to be the authentication police, in a weird way," grinned Reynolds. "To their credit - the studio’s credit - they want to make an authentic ‘Deadpool’ movie; they want to make it as close to the source material as possible."
With that in mind, the actor told us that he and the studio have already agreed to some key terms. "He’s going to be the Merc with the Mouth, [we’re going to give] all those answers that everyone wants," Reynolds explained. "He’s going to have the scarred-up face, he’s going to be in the suit - and, it’s going to be incredible."
So, as the actor and his studio begin assembling their team, Reynolds is bringing his "authentication police" skills to finding similar-minded people who can tell the fractured tale of the deadly mutant. "Right now, it’s just a question of trying to figure out what is the spine of the story," Ryan said of their current discussions. "Who is the villain? What does Wade and/or Deadpool want?"
"And how do you tell that story? Are we going to see flashbacks to his old life, flash-forwards, present-day?" an obviously enthusiastic Reynolds added. "We’re just trying to figure that stuff out."

The Deadpool movie has been slowly, quietly been percolating over at Fox, and recent days may have seen some important developments. While nothing is official just yet, it looks like Fox could be hiring Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick, the writers of Zombieland, to script the adventures of the Merc With A Mouth. I did my due diligence and asked around but couldn't get a solid confirmation, so regard this one as a strong rumor.

Another looming spin-off of the "X-Men" franchise is the previously-announced "Deadpool" film, with visual effects artist Tim Miller attached to direct. Ryan Reynolds played the role in "X-Men Origins: Wolverine", and Shuler Donner told me she can't imagine anyone else but him taking on the part.

"Absolutely, yeah," she responded when I asked whether Reynolds was still scheduled to portray the comic-book mercenary. "I can't imagine...who else could play Wade Wilson?"

She also stressed they would be staying true to the unpredictable character by making the film itself a wild and woolly affair.

"We're working on getting it ready, and presenting some things to the studio, cause we're gonna give it a little bit of a different look," she said. "It's a different kind of movie. If you know 'Deadpool'...it's true to 'Deadpool'. So you know, it'll be violent, and outrageous, and funny, and all that. So we're sort of putting it all together now."

Source: 20th Century Fox, September 18, 2014

Just a few hours after star Ryan Reynolds opened up about the reaction to the Deadpool leaked footage, 20th Century Fox has announced they are moving forward with the film and have given it a February 12, 2016 release date, just three months before the upcoming X-Men: Apocalypse. Ryan Reynolds is expected to star with director Tim Miller at the helm and a script by Zombieland writers Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick.

Also alles andere als 0815-Soße.

LivingDead

... tja und wohl nicht mal das...
... We may now have the answer, thanks to Meet The Movie Press. "I heard from the director that they finally figured out the script and it was right before this was announced. They figured out how to make it PG-13."

Fans have been hoping for an R-rated "Deadpool" movie, but Deadpool creator Rob Liefeld has been saying that the studio never considered anything other than a PG-13 version. And now we have a confirmation of that.
