The future of NBC’s new DC Comics-inspired series “Constantine” is in question today as Variety reveals that the network has elected to stop production on the show’s first season after 13 episodes. That doesn’t necessarily mean that “Constantine” has been cancelled, however, and the show could still get picked up for another season next year.

There’s some troubling news this morning for fans of the DC Comics television series “Constantine.” Following a halt in production last fall, NBC has now officially cancelled the show. While Matt Ryan’s John Constantine may not be returning to the network, executive producer Daniel Cerone has taken to Twitter to remind fans that “Constantine” isn’t dead yet and that the show is now looking for a home elsewhere.

CONSTANTINE will be returning to investigate the supernatural and defeat the sources of darkness as it's been announced that J.J. Abrams' Bad Robot production company is developing a "darker reboot" of the DC Comics character for HBO Max. The series will be penned by Guy Bolton, who has already written the pilot script and will be opening up a writers' room next month.
