But you know as I said to the director when they began that I wish them the best of luck, that I'm happy that they move forward with the franchise, I am very happy with where I am with my profession as the governor and they should try to find a way of doing a story that does not include me at all, not even one single shot in it. I don't believe in that. To kind of have them go out and promote the movie and say you know Arnold is in the movie and everyone thinks that I'm the Terminator and in fact you only see one second of me in there and so I don't think that's the right thing to do. And you know that's the danger of that, and that's why I feel reluctant to be part of the movie in the first place. So it doesn't get promoted that way.

Terminator - Die Erlösung offensichtlich nur PG-13
Nach vielen Spekulationen jetzt praktisch Gewissheit

Seit fast einem Jahr gibt es schon heftige Diskussion, ob der 200 Millionen Dollar teure vierte Teil der Terminator-Reihe nun in den USA ein R-Rating erhalten soll, wie alle Vorgänger, oder ein wesentlich lukrativeres PG-13.

Noch im letzten Jahr versicherte Regisseur McG, dass Warner Bros. keinen Druck auf ihn ausübt, den Film als PG-13 Version abzuliefern.

McG 2008 I've been given their blessing to make the picture…and if it's a rated R picture, then that's that.


Vor allem im März dieses Jahres häuften sich aber die Berichte, dass Warner jetzt doch auf ein PG-13 besteht und mit McG im Clinch liegt, dem vor allem eine Nacktszene von Moon Bloodgood wichtig zu sein scheint, wie sein Auftrifft auf der WonderCon zeigte, wo er auch das Studio öffentlich herausforderte.

Today at WonderCon, McG made a point to mention that Warner Bros wants him to cut out the topless footage from the film. He insisted that he thinks that it should remain in the released feature film, citing that Bloodgood’s character is partly a homage to James Cameron’s Sarah Connor — a strong yet beautiful woman. McG polled the audience, asking if they wanted to see the scene in the final film, which got the response that you might expect from an overwhelmingly male comic convention crowd. Having seen the footage myself, not in the context of the film or even scene, I will say this - it was beautifully and tastefully shot. I’m not sure if it furthers the story along (as I said, I did not see the shot in the context of the full scene), but it didn’t seem gratuitous at all. (slashfilm.com 1.3.2009)


Aber jetzt, knapp 5 Wochen vor dem Kinostart in den USA, scheint das Ergebnis festzustehen. Die Fast-Food Kette "Pizza Hut", die ein Werbepartner des Films ist, zeigt auf ihrer Promo Seite des Films deutlich das PG-13 Symbol am unteren Bildschirmrand.

Habs auch gerade gelesen, schade eigentlich, aber ich denke, dass er trotz PG-13 übelst rocken wird. Und dann gibts später auf DVD halt die Titten und Gore ;)

Letztlich war auch der letzte TERMINATOR ja schon auf PG-13-Niveau, von der einen etwas gorigen Brustdurchschlagsszene abgesehen. Insofern sehe ich T4 gelassen entgegen, freue mich aber auch schon auf eine härtere Heimfassung.

Wer weiss, vll. kommt bei uns ja eh ein "Harder-Cut" wie bei Taken.

Außerdem war auch "Die Hard 4.0" trotz PG-13 ein genialer Spaß. Die Vorfreude bleibt somit angesichts der fetten Trailer.
