CBS has given a straight-to-series order for 13 episodes of Salvation, a new one-hour event series from Alex Kurtzman’s Secret Hideout and CBS Television Studios. The serialized drama will be broadcast during summer 2017.

A suspense thriller, Salvation centers on an MIT grad student and a tech superstar who bring a low-level Pentagon official a staggering discovery – that an asteroid is just six months away from colliding with Earth.
