Jean-Claude Van Damme is heading to Amazon in order to make fun of himself a bit... and he's looking to land himself a series as a result.

Van Damme is set to front JEAN-CLAUDE VAN JOHNSON, a comedy pilot that would have the action star playing a version of himself, only this one is also an undercover private contractor in addition to his high-profile Hollywood work. He uses the cover of his films to get his work done, and now he's going to be starring in a reimagined action version of HUCKLEBERRY FINN. Emerging from retirement, this will allow him back into the fake action that pays the bills and the real action that he craves.

New casting details have emerged! Impact reports that Kat Foster (Rebirth) will play Vanessa, the beautiful femme fatale and super spy who stole Van Johnson’s heart and whose cover is as a movie hair-stylist. Phylicia Rashad (The Cosby Show) will play Jane Hardy, Jean-Claude’s agent and also the head of the Secret organization that he and Vanessa worked for. Moises Arias (The Kings of Summer) will play a young secret agent who works with Vanessa.

Die erste Folge ist durchaus vielversprechend, zwar irgendwie absurd, aber mit einigen köstlichen (Running) Gags gespickt. (Timecop vs. Looper)

amazon braucht keine Gründe - siehe "Good Girls Revolt" wo der damalige Senderchef sogar zugab die Serie niemals angeschaut zu haben
