HP: Kirk’s dad, George Kirk (Chris Hemsworth), is reportedly coming back in the next “Star Trek” movie. What are your thoughts on running into your dad and how do you think that interaction will be?

PINE: It’s such a trip that, in the first one, Chris [Hemsworth] had such a small but super important part and he knocked it out of the park. He’s only on screen for so little time and he’s really emotionally the centerpiece of that film.

I’ve only really seen him a couple times since then strangely, so it would be fun to reunite with him. I was honestly quite happy where the end of that father-son storyline ended, but I’d be happy to work with Chris again. He’s a great actor and a really nice man.

Hab den Fred mal geteilt, denn Paramount hat auf der CinemaCon bekannt gegeben, dass man gleich an 2 Star Trek Filmen arbeite. Könnte also gut sein, dass es ein JJ Abrams Beyond Sequel und ein Standalone Tarantino R-Rated Streifen gibt.

Paramounts talks with both Pine and Hemsworth have fallen through over salary issues. The report indicates that Pine and Hemsworth want Paramount to honor their previously made deals, while the studio is attempting to “hold the line on a budget.” Essentially, the actors feel that they would be forced to accept pay cuts under the terms they were offered, while the studio contends that the franchise can’t afford to pay them on par with their respective DC and Marvel films

Noah Hawley, creator of Legion and Fargo, is currently in final talks with Paramount Pictures to write and direct the next STAR TREK film. It's Deadline's understanding that this film will once again focus on the Enterprise crew led by Chris Pine, Zachary Quinto, Karl Urban, Zoe Saldana, and Simon Pegg. The original intention for STAR TREK 4 would have found Chris Hemsworth reprising the role of George Kirk, the man who sacrificed his life so that his crew and family could escape safely from Nero in 2009's STAR TREK. This would have let Chris Pine's Captain Kirk "cross paths with a man he never had a chance to meet, but whose legacy has haunted him since the day he was born: his father." It would seem that this particular story has now been shelved and that Hawley will be coming up with a new adventure for the Enterprise crew

Mit Regisseur Noah Hawley scheint der erste Trek-Verständige seit einer Dekade Einzug gehalten zu haben:

I have my own take on ‘Star Trek,’ and going back to what I loved about the series ‘Next Generation,’ when a lot of franchises focus on ‘might makes right’, ‘Star Trek’ is about exploration and humanity at its best, and diversity and creative problem solving.

There’s nothing better than that moment when William Shatner puts on his reading glasses and lowers Khan’s shields. It doesn’t cost anything. But it’s that triumphant feeling about smarting your enemy. For me it’s about to getting to those elements of the show. I don’t necessarily find action in and of itself interesting unless it’s story.

Nach dem Skydance Deal soll der Film nun definitiv kommen.

Mittlerweile hat man sich nun doch gegen einen 4. Aufguss mit Pine & Quinto entschieden und plant ein neuerliches Reboot.

Jonathan Goldstein und John Francis Daley werden das Drehbuch zum Star Trek Reboot schreiben, es produzieren und Regie führen. Der neue Film soll das Star Trek Universum neu interpretieren und steht in keiner Verbindung zu früheren Filmen oder aktuellen Fernsehserien. Bin gespannt. Hoffentlich keine Bierbrauerei mehr.

Dann wirds wohl in eine relativ humoristische Richtung gehen. Stört mich aber nicht, schon "Dungeons & Dragons" wurde von ihnen gut umgesetzt, obwohl dies eigentlich überhaupt nicht mein Genre ist.
