Tom Cruise is looking to make a sequel to another of his action classics, and it’s not one that you’d expect. The actor is talking to Paramount about a follow-up to his 1990 NASCAR racing film Days of Thunder.

Er ist ja erstmal nur in Gesprächen mit Paramount. Kann mir kaum vorstellen, dass das was wird. Anders als Top Gun war Days Of Thunder ja kein großer Erfolg und ist heute von den meisten wahrscheinlich vergessen.

Paramount is finally putting the pedal to the floor on a sequel to Days of Thunder, giving the keys to Jonathan Levine to sit in the driver’s seat as director of the Tom Cruise vehicle.

Cruise is on board to star in the follow-up to his 1990 racing drama and is producing with Jerry Bruckheimer, one of the producers of the original. The feature is intended to be Cruise’s next production.

Angesichts von "F1" könnte das sogar was werden. Wobei ich befürchte, dass die Story ein krasses Remake von Pitts-Streifen werden könnte.

Der war aber von Joseph Kosinski inszeniert, der wohl die beste Wahl für Days of Thunder 2 gewesen wäre. Er inszeniert nun jedoch Miami Vice.
